Zimbabwe, POTRAZ has published a notice that basically specifies some technical requirements that all Wi-Fi devices need to meet and states that Wi-Fi equipment is subject to Type Approval by POTRAZ. Another new specific requirement is that all operators of Hot spots need to register with POTRAZ. The new regulation takes immediately effect.

Africa has the fastest growing telecommunication industry. A new survey by Ernst & Young released Thursday shows that between 2002 and 2007, the industry grew by 49.3 percent as opposed to Asia which recorded a 27.4 percent growth (source: ITnewsAfrica)
