Taiwan, BSMI revises standards for TV sets & set top boxes, those should be equipped with HDTV and SDTV receivers as of 2012. Further, CNS 14336 (2005) is replaced by CNS 14336-1 (2010). For more information, please contact Teleconformity.

Taiwan, as of 2012-01-01, CNS14336-1: 2010 will be mandatory for RPC or TABI applications, whereas the 2005 version can be used until 2012-06-30 for DoC. Follow the link (Chinese only).

Taiwan, the "Low Power Radio-Frequency devices technical standard" LP002 was updated. Section 3.10.1(5) now includes out of band test methods for FHSS and digital modulated devices; section 3.13 adds the use of 57-64GHz for indoor HDFS; section 4.3.3. adds 429.1750-429.2375MHz for metering applications; section 4.7.1(3) excludes Ad-Hoc operation in the 5.6GHz band. Taiwan, as of 2012-01-01, BSMI becomes mandatory for Server equipment (TABI or RPC module II & III) and Routers, switches and hubs (DoC). The equipment has to fulfill CNS13438:2006 (EMC) and CNS14336-1:2010 (Safety).

Taiwan, BSMI emission and certification standard CNS13438 comes into force on 2010/10/1, now requiring above 1GHz testing (following CISPR22:2005). Class A devices need to be tested with 110VAC and 220VAC while Class B devices need to be tested to 110VAC only (the net frequency is 60Hz). Equipment already certified (without above 1GHz testing) will remain valid until the certificate expires.

Taiwan, mobile phone charger (USB-STD-A) and charger cable phone plug (mirco USB) must comply with CNS 15285 as of January 1, 2011. Transition period until December 31, 2011.

Teleconformity, all equipment currently under test or to be tested is advised to verify emissions above 1 GHz. Avoid non compliancy issues and check if your products need to be re-evaluated for above 1 GHz. Most equipment authorized under DoC schemes (worldwide) require an update (e.g. BSMI std.
