Japan, the UHD RFID band in Japan from 950-958MHz will move to 915-928MHz. The advantage will be improved data transfer for high power tags, and passive devices in the new band will be unlicensed. The new band will be possible to use (after certification) from July 25, 2012.

Japan, MIC has implemented a new MIC ID numbering system, allowing more technologies and certification updates under ONE and the same MIC ID. The new number still refers to the three numbers of the issuing CAB, then a "-" sign, and finishes up with no more than 6 characters behind. Japan, TELEC regularly updates it standards, also the 2.4 and 5 GHz standards based on ARIB STD T33/66 and 71. The last update to T401, T402 and T403 was completed in February. It is advised to check if you use the latest ARIB and TELEC requirements for testing.

Japan, Modular approval of transmitters is also feasible within the MIC certification rules. In general, the RF module must be used with a certified antenna, use stabilized input voltage, and the RF circuitry must be protected (shielded, or resin dropped) in such a way that it is not easy to access or open with normal tools. The module is regarded a module, when it is insertable or integratable only. Plugs may be pins for plugs but also pins for soldering.
