Saudi Arabia enforces 230VAC
Saudi Arabia, on May 22, 2012 the country stops importing electrical equipments, devices and accessories that do not operate on voltage 230VAC. Spare parts are not falling under the new regulation for a long time (15 years).

Saudi Arabia goes to 230VAC
Saudi Arabia stops the import of electrical equipments, devices and accessories that operate on voltage 127VAC. After 5 years of the issuance of the above decision, the import of the electrical equipments and accessories, will be only those operates on 220VAC or 230VAC. It will be allowed to import and manufacture spare parts for electrical equipments and accessories that operate on 127VAC for a period of 15 years.

Ukraine Update
Ukraine, as of 2012, Ukraine introduces Declaration of Conformity for Electrical Safety for most products, replacing mandatory safety certification for most products. Safety certification though may ease the process of import registration. Energy efficiency requirements and RoHS requirements under preparation, and may become mandatory soon.

Serbia new CoC scheme
Serbia, EMC and Safety certification of electrical products is not mandatory since 2010-03-20. Previously issued certificates will be valid until 2012-01-01. In the new situation, products must apply for a CoC and there is only one marking (logo) covering EMC and Safety. For more information, please contact Teleconformity.
Canada, on 2011-10-12, Part II of the Canada Gazette announces a new Amendment (number 11) providing changes to Canada's Energy Efficiency Regulations. Products affected are Electrical motors, Residential gas and oil boilers, dry-type transformers, large airconditioners and heat pumps and commercial self-contained refrigeration. Israel amending SI 900
Israel, the proposed amendment to mandatory standard SI 900 (part 1) changes the normative references appearing in section 2; adds a general requirement to section 4 that an electrical appliance which should comply with any of the standards of SI 900 should also comply with SI 900 part 1; and adds section 25.1 dealing with supply connection and external flexible cords two new requirements. As we published on August 31, Argentina planned to only issue Electrical Safety certificates to local companies as of tomorrow (2010/09/01). The new rule has been abolished after objections from the market.
Europe RF exposure Summary
European RF exposure (EMF/SAR/MPE) is a matter of Human Health (& Safety), basically refering to the LVD EMF (EM fields) related ERC recommendation
1999/519/EC
in conjucntion with the R&TTE directive 99/5/EC.
The current harmonised Standards (HS) are: EN50360 (Mobile phones, for head only, refering to EN50361 for SAR measurements), EN50371 (generic standard for LPD less than 20mW), EN50357 (RFID), EN50364 (EAS/RFID devices), EN50385 (Fixed equipment and Base stations), EN50401 (Telco networks), EN62311 (current generic standard) and EN62479 (following up EN50371).
Non harmonised Standards are EN50383 (Base stations), EN50392 (generic standard), EN62209-1 for SAR when EUT held to ear (replacement for EN50361), EN62209-2 for SAR when EUT held to body.

Argentina local safety approval

New standard for induction power
