Russia, policy makers postponed the implementation of the new Technical Regulation on safety of Low Voltage Equipment, that should have been in force as of 2011/01/01. The CU in which Russia participates, decided to implement it by February 2013. For more information contact Teleconformity.

Russia, since 2009, Russia already has Energy rate labeling requirements for certain household devices, resulting from decree N1222. Now, from 2012-01-01, new products have been added to list of devices under this regulation, such as monitors, printer and or copiers.

Finland and the Russian Federation Agree on 800Mhz Spectrum Usage for LTE Services. Finland and Russia have held negotiations on making the 800 MHz band available for mobile communications. As a result of the negotiations, Finland may begin the construction of LTE test networks within this frequency band.

The old Russian Normative Legal (NLA) Act No. 19 (2007-02-13) for IEEE802.11a/b/g will be replaced by No. 124 (2010-09-14) and comes into force. Local testing will be required, done by accredited labs. The respective FAC DoC and CoC shall be submitted to obtain approval.

The ITU studies the potential to use 450-862MHz for IMT advanced, however six CDMA-450 mobile operators want to extend the range to 410-862MHz for the use of LTE. It concerns Sky Link (Russia), TRIATEL (Latvia), DIALLOG (Belarus), Ufon (Czech Republic), G-Mobile (Mongolia), Telemobil SA (Romania) and the CDG SIG450.
